Rafale Deal: Five parts being manufactured at Dassault-Reliance's Nagpur plant, will be added to Rafale jet

Five Rafale components are being manufactured at the Dassault Reliance Aerospace plant in Nagpur and are being sent to France to be fitted on all Rafale aircraft, not just Indian ones.

 

Consul General of France in Mumbai, Jean-Marc Serre-Charlotte and a delegation from the Embassy's Regional Economic Service visited two French companies Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) and Air Liquide present in Nagpur.

 

 

Speaking to the media during her visit, Serre-Charlotte said that the purpose of the visit is to further enhance close cooperation between France and India in many areas of society, from trade, investment, defence, energy, education and French language studies Is. He also said that the Agence Francaise Development (AFD) public development bank has contributed 130 million euros in funding for the project over 20 years.

 

Responding to a question on the status of manufacturing of Rafale and Falcon 2000 at the DRAL manufacturing plant, the Consul General said that 5 pieces of Rafale are manufactured in Nagpur and then sent to the assembly line in France to be assembled into all Rafale jets . These parts are fitted in all Rafale aircraft.

 

He also said that for the construction of the Falcon 2000 jet, DRAL is making various sections of the jet and sending them to France to be assembled along the assembly line.

 

He said that AFD is very happy with the work done in Nagpur Metro Phase 1 and is also active in other metro projects in Pune and Gujarat. When asked whether AFD would finance the second phase of Nagpur Metro, he informed that it is up to the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation to decide with whom they want to partner.
