Draupadi Murmu has become the new President of the country. He also took oath on Monday. After this, the term of Ramnath Kovind was completed. Now his new address will not be Rashtrapati Bhavan, but the bungalow on Janpath Road, where former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan once lived.
Kovind left Rashtrapati Bhavan to reach his new residence on Monday after Draupadi Murmu was sworn in as the President of India. The bungalow has been made the residence of Kovind after the completion of his term as President. Paswan passed away in 2020. Before that, he lived in this bungalow at 12 Janpath for nearly three decades. His son Chirag Paswan had vacated the bungalow in April after receiving the notice.
Significantly, Ram Vilas Paswan died in October 2020 at the age of 74. Since 1989, he has been a minister in central governments led by different ideological parties, from the Janata Dal to the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.
