Republic Day 2024: This time on the occasion of Republic Day, heritage aircraft Dakota has been included in the \'Tangel\' formation to be flown during the flypast. It will also have two Dornier Do-228 aircraft, which will fly on aviation turbine fuel and biofuel.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday said the \'Tangel\' formation will repeat the successful airdrop in which Indian Air Force personnel were parasuit on December 11, 1971. Let us tell you that this was the first airdrop of Indian security forces on enemy territory during the India-Pakistan war.

What will be special in this year\'s Republic Day Parade?

Apart from this, weapon systems made in India will also be one of the main attractions in this year\'s Republic Day Parade. This includes LCH Prachanda helicopters, Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers, and Nag anti-tank missiles from the Indian Army.

Let us tell you that LCH Prachanda is the first indigenous multi-role combat helicopter designed and manufactured by HAL. It has powerful ground attack and air combat capabilities. The helicopter has strong armor protection and tremendous night attack capability. Advanced onboard navigation systems, close-combat guns, and powerful air-to-air missiles make the LCH particularly suited for the modern battlefield.

NAG missile

NAG has been developed by DRDO to deal with highly fortified enemy tanks in day and night conditions. The missile has \'Fire and Forget\' \'Top Attack\' capabilities with passive homing guidance to defeat all MBTs equipped with composite and reactive armor. The NAG missile carrier is a BMP II-based system with NAMICA amphibious capability. Army officials said the latest armored vehicles and specialist vehicles indigenously manufactured by the Indian industry will also be displayed at the parade, where French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest.

These three vehicles will march on the dusty path

Fighting Reaction Vehicles, Light Specialist Vehicles, and All-Terrain Vehicles will march on the path of duty this year. Officials said the weapon systems will also include T-90 tanks, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, C-Drone jammers, advanced omnidirectional bridges, medium-range surface-to-air missile launchers, and multi-function radars.

Swati Weapon Locating Radar, is an indigenously designed WLR capable of detecting guns, mortars, and rockets firing at its troops, facilitating their destruction through counter-bombardment by its own firepower resources. This will enable the troops to carry out their operational tasks without enemy interference and will also provide them protection from enemy fire.

Pinaka and Swati radar also included

Along with the Light Combat Helicopter, the Indian Army will also field a weaponized version of the ALH Dhruv helicopter, also known as Rudra. The weapon systems displayed at the parade also include Pinaka and Swati radars which have been successfully exported by Indian entities to foreign customers. Both have been developed by DRDO. The advanced range version of the Pinaka rocket system can destroy targets at ranges up to 45 kilometers.
