The much-awaited film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, which is slated to release on Friday with a production and print and promotional cost of around Rs 180 crore, opened for bookings on Tuesday. Now the eyes of the film world are fixed on the first-day opening of this film on Friday. The first-day collection of any hit film of Ranveer Singh is the lowest so far at Rs 12.80 crore and the highest first-day collection is Rs 24 crore. According to the cost, the film 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' at the domestic box office needs an opening of at least Rs 30 crores to get a good opening, the box office journey of the film can be very difficult on opening less than this.

The film 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' is the 16th film starring actor Ranveer Singh in the lead role. These days, for a film to be a grand success at the domestic box office, it has to collect at least 20 percent of its cost at the box office. Even if the film's collection is above 10 percent and less than 20 percent, there remains scope for the film to be successful, provided the audience continues to praise the film. The budget of the film 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' and the way it has been spent on its promotion, in such a situation, the film can get an opening of 30 crores. People in Mumbai are also betting on this amount.

But, the first-day opening of Ranveer Singh's most successful film 'Padmavat' has also been Rs 24 crores only. Out of the 15 films that Ranveer has released so far, six have been successful at the box office. Four films did average business and the remaining five films were flops. While Ranveer Singh's film 'Padmavat' has been his biggest opening film to date, his film 'Band Baaja Baaraat' with an opening of just Rs 95 lakh is considered an average success film because the cost of the film was very low then.

Among the successful films Ranveer Singh, the film 'Simmba' has the second number after the film 'Padmavat' released in 2018, which took an opening of Rs 20.72 crore in 2018 itself. Its next year i.e. in the year 2019, the first-day collection of the film 'Gully Boy' was Rs 19.40 crore. The film 'Gully Boy' has been the last successful film of actor Ranveer Singh as a solo hero.
