Despite the claim of being an apolitical organization, the United Kisan Morcha has sounded the trumpet of opposition to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand elections. The forum of 40 farmers' organizations, formed for the movement against 3 central agricultural laws, has written an account on Thursday in the name of the people of UP and Uttarakhand, appealing to punish it by voting against the 'farmer's anti-BJP'. Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait has shared this letter on Twitter, which he has also signed.
Describing the agricultural laws and the Lakhimpur Kheri incident, the open letter, titled 'Kisan Andolan Ka Ek Sipahi', said, "Today I need your help to teach a lesson to the BJP which insults us, farmers. The BJP government does not understand the language of truth and lies, does not understand the difference between good and bad, does not know the difference between constitutional and unconstitutional. Only this party understands only one language - vote, seat, power.
It further said, "In a few days, there are going to be assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. In Uttar Pradesh too, the BJP went back on its promise to the farmers in the 2017 assembly elections. The promise was that the entire loan of all the farmers would be waived off. But only 44 lakhs happened and that too only up to one lakh rupees. There was a promise to get the payment of sugarcane within 14 days, to get the interest of the outstanding money. There was a promise of cheap and sufficient electricity, but the country's most expensive electricity was made in UP. There was a promise to buy grain and grain of the crop but did not even buy one-third of the paddy yield and even one-sixth of the wheat yield.
Accusing BJP of breach of promise, there has been a demand for punishment. It said, “To open the ears of this anti-farmer BJP government, it needs to be punished in the elections. I don't need to tell you how to punish. You are smart. The BJP leader who came to ask you for votes must ask him questions on these issues. Only a farmer can understand the pain of a farmer, I am sure you will remember this letter of mine while casting your vote.
