There have been 3 big revelations in the last 24 hours in the Umesh Pal murder case of UP. First- 13 shooters, not 6, had arrived in Prayagraj to kill Umesh. Of these, 7 were waiting in the backup. Second- The conspiracy of murder was hatched in the Muslim hostel. Third- An important role in the conspiracy was of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, who was lodged in Sabarmati Jail in Ahmedabad. Ashraf is lodged in Bareilly jail. From jail itself, both used to connect with their operatives through WhatsApp calls.

 

This was disclosed by Sadaqat Khan, a lawyer of the Allahabad High Court and involved in the murder, during interrogation. Prayagraj Police Commissioner Ramit Sharma said that Sadaqat was arrested by the STF on Monday from Gorakhpur. He was trying to escape to Nepal. Sadaqat was living illegally in room number 36 of the Muslim Boarding Hostel of Allahabad University. The conspiracy to kill Umesh Pal was hatched in this room.

 

Police got two successes so far

Police killed Atiq Ahmed's driver Arbaaz in an encounter on Monday. Whereas, Sadaqat Khan has been arrested. Looking for the others. Meanwhile, Atiq's wife has filed a petition in the Allahabad district court. It has been said that the clue of his sons is not being found.

 

The police investigation so far has revealed that a total of 13 shooters were involved in the Dhumanganj shootout on February 24. Police have identified another shooter named Shabir, who was firing with a rifle. His picture has surfaced on CCTV. STF is now looking for him too.

 

Atiq's son Asad, Bombaz Guddu Muslim, Ghulam, and Arbaaz were identified after scanning the CCTV footage of the Dhumanganj police station area. The fifth conspirator has been identified as Sadaqat Khan. Mafia Atiq's son Asad was leading the shooters. 13 shooters had come to kill. 6 were firing, while 7 were in the backup.

 

Police said, 'Apart from the shooters, other people were also deployed for backup. Due to Dhumanganj being a congested area, 6 shooters raided the house. Bullets were fired at Umesh and his gunner. After carrying out the massacre, those who backed up the shooters also fled in their respective vehicles. Sabir is the 6th person involved in this conspiracy and incident, who has been identified by the police. Rest 7 are being identified based on interrogation.

 

ADG STF Amitabh Yash told that Sadakat is a resident of Bara Gahmar village of Ghazipur. At the time of arrest, 27-year-old Sadaqat had tried to intimidate by calling himself a lawyer of the Allahabad High Court. The police took him to room number 36 of the Muslim boarding house. Many important clues have been found in the search for the room, in which STF teams are working. Sadakat told during interrogation that he wanted to flee to Nepal. Then he was arrested.

 

Prayagraj Police Commissioner Ramit Sharma said that Sadaqat tried to escape from STF custody after the room was searched. After this, he collided with the divider. He is also hurt. Police are probing Sadaqat's criminal record.
