New Delhi, March 15 (IANS) BJP leader and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu Saturday said he will not fight the Lok Sabha polls from anywhere except Amritsar, which he currently represents.
Talking to reporters after a meeting with party president Rajnath Singh, Sidhu said he had no problem with senior party leader Arun Jaitley fighting from Amritsar but he would refrain from the electoral battle.
"I had promised the people of Amritsar I will always fight polls from there. Arun Jaitley wants to fight from Amritsar... He is my guru... (I) will accept whatever party decides. I will not fight from anywhere else," he said.
Sidhu added that he will never ask for a seat.
"I have never asked for a ticket, I never will," he added.
Jaitley, presently leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, is likely to fight Lok Sabha polls from Amritsar as per party sources.
Sidhu was offered Kurukshetra in Haryana, and also West Delhi seat, but the former cricketer refused, the sources said.
