The IMF has agreed to give a loan of $ 2.9 billion over four years to Sri Lanka, which is facing a severe economic crisis, under a preliminary agreement. In this regard, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, "We have seen the IMF's release regarding the agreement. It aims at macroeconomic stability, debt sustainability, protection of affected people, and expediting organizational reforms.
