According to Ceylon Petroleum Corporation- Diesel prices have increased by 15%. Now the price of diesel has reached 460 Sri Lankan rupees per liter. Petrol prices have been increased by 22%. Now it has become 550 Sri Lankan rupees per liter.

Vijesekera said – Oil did not come last week. Next week also the shipment will not be able to arrive due to payment issues. There is an appeal to the people not to stand in long lines outside the petrol pump. Many people have left their vehicles outside the petrol pump.
Officials say that there is enough fuel available in Sri Lanka for about two days, but it is being saved for essential services.

The government has decided to implement a token system for people standing in long lines outside petrol pumps. It will be started on Monday. The responsibility for implementing this will be of Sri Lanka Police and Army. When the number is received, the drivers will be informed about this by calling them. Energy Minister Vijesekera said that four different groups of the ministry are working on oil imports. After the token system, people will not have to stand in line for a long time.
