The Indian Navy is going to build a submarine museum in West Bengal. Its process has already started. This will be the second Navy submarine museum in the country after Visakhapatnam. It will be similar to Visakhapatnam, but better than that. While this will give a boost to West Bengal tourism, it will also motivate the youth to join the Navy.
In a special conversation with Amar Ujala, this information was given by Commander Sudipto Moitra, Chief Spokesperson of the Navy of Bengal Area. Moitra informed that talks have been held with the Bengal government to set up an Indian Navy submarine museum. The proposal for this has been sent and the process has started. He told that the Naval Submarine Museum is going to be built near Digha Railway Station, a world-famous tourist destination. The government is also very enthusiastic about this. What else will happen in this is being discussed.
Will upgrade from Visakhapatnam
Sudipto told that it will be much more advanced than the country's first submarine museum located in Visakhapatnam. The submarine that will be included in this will be quite state-of-the-art and will not have been modified in any way. This will give people an opportunity to know the working style of the Indian Navy. He told that every year lakhs of tourists visit Digha because it is a sea beach. He said that those who cannot go to Visakhapatnam can experience the Navy here.
youth will get inspiration
Sudipto Moitra said that the Indian Navy is running various schemes to attract the youth to the Navy. So that more and more youth come to the Navy and make their career. This museum will act as an inspiration for the youth who want to join the Navy. They will get a chance to understand it very closely.
Work on the second phase of the Naval Aircraft Museum started
Moitra said that the Navy already has a Naval Aircraft Museum in New Town, adjacent to Kolkata. It has been built in collaboration with the Government of West Bengal. It was inaugurated by Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The work of its second phase has also started, which will be completed soon.
