Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora is elated over the successful completion of the G-20 summit due to better security management. During the Corona period, Delhi Police set an example of humanity by staying alert on the streets and helping people in distress, due to which Delhi Police was highly appreciated across the country.
Due to this, the Delhi Police became the police of the heart. Now Delhi Police has won the hearts of the people for the second time by making its important contribution in making the biggest event ever held in the country a success. The Home Ministry has also praised Delhi Police a lot.
On Monday, on behalf of the Commissioner, his OSD DCP Manishi Chandra issued a letter to the DCPs of all 15 districts and units asking them to arrange a place and date as per their convenience and give a big meal to their respective personnel. A feast will be organized by the Police Commissioner as a token of thanks.
The commissioner congratulated all the officers and employees
The Police Commissioner congratulated all the officers and employees for the success of the G-20. He said that the security management of the G-20 was the result of extremely smooth, professional, and precise execution which saw the participation, commitment, and contribution of all officers and staff of Delhi Police, which made the summit a success.
In the second letter issued to the DCPs of the districts and units, Manish Chandra said that they should give leave of two days to all the personnel involved in the security of G-20. Give leave to about 10 percent of employees every day, so that everyone can get this facility in the next 10 days.
Officers and personnel of all ranks of Delhi Police were deployed in security preparations for the G-20 summit. His briefing continued for several months. As the time of the ceremony approached, they remained busy in rehearsals, only then with the cooperation of everyone, the G-20 conference could be successfully concluded on Sunday.
Everyone needs rest: Commissioner
The Commissioner said that everyone needs to take a rest, only then after being refreshed they will be able to return to their respective districts and units and work better than before. To ensure that there is no security lapse anywhere in the security of G-20, all the officers worked hard day and night with sincerity. Worked very professionally. The officers and personnel who were assigned duty performed it very well.
A big example of this was seen when it started raining in Delhi on Saturday night (which continued till Sunday morning), and then the policemen deployed on the streets remained alert at the barricades wearing plastic raincoats throughout the night. No one tried to move from their designated point. Women policemen also remained constantly ready at the barricades on the roads.
For the G-20 conference, apart from the New Delhi district, restrictions were imposed on the movement of common people in Central, South, South-West, and around Aerocity. Shops were closed. Roads were diverted. All those restrictions have now been lifted.
Women policemen played an important role in security
Everyone from constables to senior officers of Delhi Police are happy with the successful organization of G-20. Delhi Police was preparing for many months to make this event successful. The result of this is that the G-20 was completed grandly and safely. Everyone has a collective role in making the event successful, but the role of women policemen has been very important.
In the security of the venue, women policemen became the third eye of the security agencies and provided moment-by-moment information from 700 CCTV cameras. 150 women policemen with special training were deployed for this.
These women policemen were deployed on a shift basis in the CCTV-integrated room built in Bharat Mandapam inside Pragati Maidan. From September 7 to 10, the women monitored every activity through CCTV. This team worked 24 hours under the leadership of DCP Pratiksha Godara, a woman of the Special Cell.
