
New Delhi, March 27 (IANS) External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has postponed her March 28-31 visit to Tanzania and South Africa as the 8th IBSA Trilateral Ministerial Commission scheduled to be held in Johannesburg has been re-scheduled.
External affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said on Friday: "On account of re-scheduling of 8th IBSA Trilateral Ministerial Commission (ITMC) meeting in South Africa to a later date, the external affairs minister has postponed her visit to Tanzania and South Africa."
"New dates will be worked out through diplomatic channels in consultation with concerned countries," he said.
Sushma Swaraj was set to meet her South African counterpart Maite Nkoana-Mashabane and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira at the 8th India-Brazil-South Africa Trilateral Ministerial Commission (ITMC) on March 31.
In South Africa, she was also set to co-chair the India-South Africa joint commission.
She was to visit Tanzania from March 28-29, being the first Indian foreign minister to visit the east African country since 2003.
