Since October till now, the tussle between BCCI and PCB is not taking its name. After the statement of BCCI Secretary Jai Shah on the decision not to go to Pakistan in the Asia Cup, there is a continuous reaction from the side of PCB. When PCB chief Rameez Raja was there, he had clearly said that if the Indian team did not come to Pakistan, then Pakistan would also not participate in the ODI World Cup to be held in India.
Now the new PCB chairman Najam Sethi has also given his reaction to this whole episode. He has said that the decision to send the Pakistani team to the ODI World Cup to be held in India will be taken at the government level. If the government refuses to send the team, we will do the same.
Sethi said on Monday, "As far as India-Pakistan cricket relations are concerned, I want to make one thing clear only the government takes this decision." PCB can only seek permission. Sethi said he is in touch with the Asian Cricket Council regarding the Asia Cup, which is to be held in Pakistan next year.
Sethi was reacting to former PCB chairman Rameez Raja's statement that if the Indian team does not come to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, then we will also not send our team to the ODI World Cup. This statement by Rameez Raja gathered a lot of headlines.
However, later after going to the chair, he told this that he had not talked to the ICC about this. His only attempt was to put pressure on the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Let us tell you that the Asia Cup 2023 was hosted by Pakistan, but in October, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah said that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan.
