The first case of bird flu in China has been reported from a person infected with the H10N3 strain. The case has been unearthed in the eastern Jiangsu province of the country. This information was given by the National Health Commission on Tuesday. A 41-year-old man from Zhenjiang city has a bird flu infection. Currently, the man's condition is stable and he will be discharged soon.

A person suffering from the H10N3 strain of bird flu was admitted to the hospital on 28 April due to fever and other health-related problems. On May 28, he was found to be infected with the influenza virus H10N3. However, no details have been given about how the person got this infection. In April, the highly pathogenic H5N6 avian flu was identified in a wild bird in Shenyang city, northeast China.

No more dangerous H10N3: NHC

However, NHC has reported H10N3 to be less pathogenic and less prone to spread the infection. Medical examination of those who came in contact with the infected patient was done, but there is no such case among them. Many strains of avian influenza are present in China and people working in poultry have been exposed to infection.

The H7N9 strain caused 300 deaths in 2016-2017

Bird flu has not been transmitted to humans since the H7N9 strain killed 300 people in 2016-2017. Now, this first case is found. There is no other case of infection of this strain in the world. Let us tell you that right now the whole world is in the grip of the Covid-19 epidemic. It also started in China itself. The first infection case came in late 2019 in Wuhan, China. Only two three months later, the World Health Organization declared it an epidemic.
