The Russian army withdrew from Kharkiv: President Zelensky said - there is no place for the occupiers in Ukraine, and the withdrawal of the army is the right option

The Russia-Ukraine war has been going on for 6 months. The Russian army has failed to capture Ukraine. Now Russia is stepping back. According to reports, Russia's hold in Kharkiv was loosening since last week. After Ukraine's retaliation, Russia decided to withdraw the army.

Russia's Defense Ministry said it was withdrawing its troops from the Izum region of Ukraine. The area was a major base for the Russian army in Kharkiv. Russia now says it is withdrawing troops to focus on Donetsk. A similar statement was made by the Russian Defense Ministry in March when it withdrew troops from Kyiv.

Ukraine's success

The withdrawal of Russian troops is being seen as a victory for Ukraine. Ukrainian officials said- our troops have got a big victory in the Kharkiv area. In April, Russian troops captured Izum. Now our soldiers have taken back Izum and cut off the much-needed supply line of the Russian army.

Zelensky said - going from here is the right option

Ukraine's President Zelensky has praised Russia's decision. He said- the decision taken by Russia to withdraw the army in the last few days is correct. Russia has shown its best side by doing this. Running away from here is a good option for them. There was never and never will be a place for the occupiers in Ukraine.

Why Russia-Ukraine War?

In December 2021, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the membership of NATO. Russia has been angry since this announcement about Ukraine. Russia does not want Ukraine to join NATO. Russia is a country bordering Ukraine, so Ukraine is very important for its security. Russia believes that Ukraine's joining NATO will mean the separation of the head from Russia's torso.

Why is Russia opposing Ukraine's joining NATO?

Ukraine has a border of more than 2 thousand kilometers with Russia. Russia fears that if Ukraine joins NATO, NATO forces will reach the Russian border.

In such a situation, in the event of a fight with Ukraine, NATO countries can wage war against Russia, which will not be good for Russia's security.

If Ukraine joins NATO, Russia's capital Moscow will be only 640 kilometers away from the West. Right now this distance is about 1600 kilometers.

This is the reason why Russia has been issuing warnings about Ukraine joining NATO. Russia wants a guarantee that Ukraine will never join NATO.

Russia has announced the withdrawal of its army in peace talks with Ukraine. After this, the troops started withdrawing from Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It also included the Russian Battalion Tactical Group (BTG), which retreated from areas around the Ukrainian capital.
