The outbreak of Covid-19 is not over yet. Meanwhile, a big apprehension has been raised about the fact that within two to four weeks, the third wave of corona may come to Maharashtra. A meeting was held with the task force set up under the chairmanship of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to prepare for Corona. Many important things came out in this meeting. Giving a warning, the State Task Force said that within two to four weeks, there may be a third wave of corona in the state. The task force has also said that the impact of this wave may affect 10 percent of children.

It was revealed in this meeting that the total number of cases in the third wave of Corona could be double the total number of cases in the second wave. The number of active corona patients in the state can reach eight to one million. Experts have also said that 10 percent of the patients may be children. This review meeting was held to prepare for a possible third wave in Maharashtra now amid the cases of the Delta Plus variant. The task force has told the Chief Minister that the very fast-spreading Delta Plus variant could bring a third wave in the state.

State health workers said that the second wave had more cases than the first wave and it was due to the delta variant. He has expressed apprehension that more corona patients may come in the third wave. Let us inform you that in the first wave 19 lakh infection cases were registered in the state while in the second wave about 40 lakh positive cases have been registered. Officials have now expressed concern that the number of active cases in the third wave could reach close to 8 lakh, and about 10 percent of them will be children.

Dr. Shashank Joshi, a member of this task force, said that because of the threat of corona, we have to follow the necessary guidelines to fight against Covid. Taskforce members have warned that the situation in Maharashtra could become like the UK where the third wave has caused havoc. Officials have warned that uncontrolled crowds and ignoring corona rules such as not wearing masks and not following social distancing can increase anxiety. He also said that the number of testing has also come down, which means that many such cases may come which are not known.
