The Maharashtra government has ordered an inquiry into the tweets by these celebrities. Recently, many celebrities, including Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan, Lata Mangeshkar, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, were tweeted after the Ministry of External Affairs responded. The Maharashtra government has asked the Intelligence Department to investigate these tweets. These tweets were complained by Congress and alleged that most tweets had the same pattern. State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh assured the Congress delegation that the Intelligence Department of Maharashtra Police would investigate the tweets of Indian celebrities and find out if there was any pressure from the BJP for such tweets.
Earlier, MNS chief Raj Thackeray also attacked the government for tweeting stars. Raj Thackeray had said that the central government should not have asked Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar to tweet in support of his stand and his reputation should not have been leveled at Dao. Now he will have to face trolling on social media. He alleged that the government should limit the use of actors like Akshay Kumar for his campaign.
