New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS) Describing terrorism as a "principal global threat", Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday said there should be no distinction between terrorist groups and each country must fulfil its commitments to eliminate "terror safe havens".
India would deepen its cooperation with the US in combating terrorism, Modi said in his remarks at the joint media interaction here with US President Barack Obama.
Modi said terrorism remains a "principal global threat". "It is taking on a new character, even as existing challenges persist. We agreed that we need a comprehensive global strategy and approach to combat with it."
"There should be no distinction between terrorist groups. Every country must fulfil its commitments to eliminate terror safe havens and bring terrorists to justice," he said without naming Pakistan.
The prime minister said India and the US would deepen their bilateral security cooperation against terrorist groups. "We will further enhance our counter-terrorism capabilities, including in the area of technology," he added.
