The third arrest has been made in the Delhi excise policy scam case. CBI has arrested Abhishek Boinpally from Hyderabad. CBI officials told that he was not cooperating in the inquiry. After that, he is arrested. He was called for questioning on Sunday. During this, he was avoiding important questions, after which he was taken into custody late in the night.
According to the CBI, Abhishek allegedly worked for some liquor merchants in South India. He will appear in court on Monday. Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Delhi-based liquor baron Sameer Mahendru on September 28. On September 17, CBI arrested AAP's communication in-charge, Vijay Nair.
ED had raided more than 35 locations
On Friday (October 7) the ED raided more than 35 locations in Delhi, Punjab, and Hyderabad. Liquor distributors, companies, and their associated entities were searched in these states. Delhi's liquor policy was implemented on November 17 last year. CBI investigation started in Delhi's Excise Policy scam in July. So far more than 103 places have been raided.

On September 16, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted simultaneous raids in 6 states of the country in the money laundering case related to the scam in Delhi's liquor policy. This action was taken at 40 places in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Delhi. In this case, the house of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has also been raided. He has also been questioned by the CBI for several rounds.
ED raided 30 locations including Delhi, Lucknow
Earlier on September 6, the ED had raided more than 30 places in the Delhi liquor scam case. The liquor policy was implemented on August 1
Deputy CM Manish Sisodia announced on 1 August 2022 that the old liquor policy would be implemented. He said in a press conference – The Central Government has made the entry of CBI in this policy, due to which no one is ready to take the contract. So we will not implement the new system.
The Deputy CM had said that the corruption of the BJP would have ended with the new excise policy and revenue of 9,500 crores would have come in a year. Presently 468 liquor shops are running in Delhi. The motive of the BJP is that illegal liquor is sold in Delhi.
Under this new liquor policy, the Delhi government has taken these 5 major decisions.
By dividing the entire Delhi into 32 zones, it was said to have 27 liquor vendors in each zone.
In this, it was decided that the Delhi government will no longer do the work of selling liquor.
Now there will be only private shops to sell liquor in Delhi.
In each ward, 2 to 3 vendors will be allowed to sell liquor.
The process of granting licenses for liquor shops will be made easy and flexible.
