Trump gives another blow to China on the go, Xiaomi banned in America

US President Donald Trump may be leaving power on January 20 but is not showing any reduction in aggression on China on the go.

The Trump administration has imposed a new ban on Chinese companies. Along with this, the Federal Government has given more powers to stop the import of technology from China.

The Trump government has put China's state-run company China National Offshore Oil Corporation and mobile phone manufacturer Xiaomi on the blacklist.

At the same time, the US Commerce Ministry has been given the right to decide to stop imports from countries where security seems to be threatened.

On Thursday, the US Commerce Ministry put China National Offshore Oil Corporation in the entity list. This means that American groups will not be able to do business with this company's products and technology.

A few hours later, the Pentagon put Xiaomi on the blacklist. In November, Xiaomi became the third major smartphone manufacturer in the world, surpassing Apple. Apart from this, eight other businesses have been included in this list, whose relationship with the Chinese Army is being told.

In November, President Trump signed an executive order banning US citizens from investing in companies listed on the list. After this step, American investors will not be able to buy Xiaomi.

The next week Joe Biden is going to take power and Trump is in the last days of his government. In these last days, Trump has put the entire focus on China. Throughout Trump's tenure, China's economy and foreign policy were undergoing an upsurge.

US Commerce Minister Wilbur Ross has said that the China National Offshore Oil Corporation helps the Chinese military. Especially in the South China Sea for threatening neighbors.

The US Ministry of Commerce said, "The China National Offshore Oil Corporation has posed a threat to other countries in the South China Sea." Vietnam has a dispute with China over oil resources in the South China Sea. China National Offshore Oil Corporation is working against Vietnam.

US Commerce Minister Wilbur Ross has said, "China is showing a lot of aggression in the South China Sea." He is taking indiscriminate unilateral action here. He is building a military base in the South China Sea which is a threat to America's national security and the international community.

In 2015, Chinese President Xi Jinping promised the then US President Barack Obama that China would not militarize the disputed territory in the South China Sea. In the past few years, the US has put many Chinese companies in the entity list.

These include Khwave, a telecom equipment maker. Recently, the US company also banned the commercial drone manufacturing company DJI.

Xiaomi's stock has fallen by 14% in the US. The Pentagon's list also includes China's big tech companies Alibaba, Tencent, and Baidu. But the US Finance Ministry says that this may cause losses to American investors.

The US banned a total of 9 companies on Thursday, according to news agency Reuters. With this step of America, tensions between the two countries may increase again.

China has criticized this step of America. On Thursday, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Chao Lijian said that the US is politicizing economic and trade issues.

He said that Chinese companies are investing and doing business in the whole world following the business principles. The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the US is pressing Chinese companies in the name of national security.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said, "America should welcome healthy competition in the market." Banning Chinese companies in violation of international rules is an abuse of power.
