UNSC Meeting on Afghanistan: In the wake of the Taliban occupation of Afghanistan, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will hold an emergency meeting on the situation in Afghanistan under the chairmanship of India on Monday. This will be the second meeting of the Security Council in a week. This meeting will start at 7.30 pm. The long-running war in Afghanistan marked a turning point on Sunday when Taliban extremists entered the capital Kabul and captured Rashtrapati Bhavan and President Ashraf Ghani had to leave the country along with domestic and foreign nationals. Taliban fighters have also captured the Afghan parliament. Taliban fighters with guns in their hands entered the parliament building and sat on the speaker's chair.
