Reports quoted Dr. Nandini Desai, Dean of MP Shah Medical College, Jamnagar, as saying that Dr. Gandhi had suddenly collapsed near his bathroom two hours after reaching his home. He was then shifted to GG Hospital. He died within 45 minutes of reaching the hospital. According to the information, he was healthy before his death.

His wife Devanshi is also a dentist. They also have a ten-year-old daughter and a five-year-old son.

Dr. Gaurav Gandhi did his MBBS and MD from MP Shah Medical College, Jamnagar. After this, he went to Ahmedabad to study DM Cardiology. After completing his studies, he returned to his hometown Jamnagar and started his medical profession from there.
