UP: orders for maintenance allowance issued to daily wage laborers, will get Rs 1000 per month

In order to prevent the corona virus infection, the government has issued an order for maintenance allowance in view of the crisis on the livelihood of daily laborers and laborers with the announcement of lockdown. Those identified will get 1000 rupees per month under this allowance.

The Revenue Department has been given the responsibility to pay cash payment to the Labor Department and other categories of daily wage laborers for the action related to giving maintenance allowance to the registered workers in the Labor Department. Revenue department has been made nodal department for implementation of announcements of Chief Minister.

 

CM Yogi Adityanath announced a day before to pay a maintenance allowance of Rs 1000 for the daily wages and laborers affected by the crisis of livelihood due to the infection of corona virus. It has announced to provide 20 kg of wheat and 15 kg of rice free of cost to PDS shops to about one crore 65 lakh 31 thousand needy, including construction workers, daily laborers registered in Antyodaya, MNREGA and Labor Department. It will cost Rs 94.50 crore.

 

Old age, PwD and destitute widows receive their maintenance pension on quarterly basis. They have been ordered to give two months advance pension in April itself. A detailed mandate in this regard has been issued by Additional Chief Secretary Finance and Finance Commissioner Sanjeev Mittal.

 

He has clearly stated that the Labor Department will take action to provide maintenance allowance to the workers registered in the Labor Department from the budget of Labor Cess. Apart from this, maintenance allowance to other laborers will be made from the budget made available to the revenue department. The District Magistrate will ensure full action.
