Rs 145 crore will be spent to change the seating system of 22 Vande Bharat trains
Tata Steel's Vice President of Technology and New Materials Business Wing Debashish Bhattacharya has said that the company has received an order worth Rs 145 crore to replace the seating system of all 22 Vande Bharat trains running in the country. Let us tell you that all Vande Bharat trains running in the country have 16 coaches. The Tata company is about to modernize the seats of these coaches. Bhattacharya said, “Vande Bharat trains will be fitted with uniquely designed seats. These seats can be rotated up to 180 degrees. These seats will give the feel of the seats on the plane. For the first time, such state-of-the-art seats will be used in Indian trains.
The maintenance cost of new seats will be much lower
The seats that will be installed by Tata in Vande Bharat trains are made of fiber-reinforced polymer. Apart from being convenient to use, the cost of their maintenance is also very less. These seats have been developed throughout the whole country itself. Let us tell you that Vande Bharat trains are currently the fastest running trains in the country, which run at a speed of 130 kmph. Giving information, company officials have said that the Tata Group wants to make its place among the top five technology companies in the steel industry worldwide by the year 2030. The company plans to spend Rs 3000 crore on its research and development activities in the next five years (FY 2022 to 2026).
Construction will start with the help of a Netherlands company
According to Debashish Bhattacharya, Tata Steel is going to set up a greenfield facility to manufacture sandwich panels. Tata Steel is about to start this construction site in Khopoli, Maharashtra in partnership with a Netherlands-based firm. Here aluminum sandwich panels will be made for the interior of rail and metro coaches.
