Vivo has officially confirmed the India launch date of its latest V-series smartphone, the Vivo V80. The new smartphone will be unveiled in India on October 6, 2026, at 12 PM IST. The company has already revealed several key specifications, including a 7,200mAh battery, ZEISS-powered cameras, a 144Hz 1.5K OLED display and a range of AI-powered features.
Positioned as the successor to the Vivo V70, the Vivo V80 focuses on photography, video recording, battery endurance and AI-powered features. Vivo has also confirmed that the smartphone will run OriginOS 7 and receive up to six years of security updates.
Vivo V80 India Launch Date and Availability
The Vivo V80 will launch in India on October 6 at 12 PM. The smartphone will be offered in three colour options: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black.
Following its launch, the device will be sold through Vivo's India website, Amazon, Flipkart and offline retail stores. Vivo has not yet announced the official India price of the V80.
Vivo V80 Camera: 50MP ZEISS Setup
Camera performance is one of the key highlights of the Vivo V80. The smartphone features a ZEISS-branded rear camera system with a 50MP ZEISS OIS main camera using the Sony LYTIA 700V sensor.
The phone also gets a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera based on the Sony IMX882 sensor. It supports optical image stabilisation, 3x optical zoom and up to 100x zoom. A ZEISS ultra-wide-angle camera is also included.
For selfies and group photography, the Vivo V80 features a 50MP ZEISS Group Selfie camera with a 92-degree field of view and autofocus. The smartphone also supports 4K Cinematic Video and 4K video recording at 60fps.
Vivo V80 AI Features: 30+ Creative Tools
Vivo is also highlighting AI as a major part of the V80 experience. The smartphone comes with more than 30 AI creative tools, including Live Sticker Collage and AI Diwali Portrait 2.0.
The AI Diwali Portrait feature is designed around festive photography, while other tools such as Pet Pals, Snap Note and Security Shield are aimed at adding creative and practical functions to everyday smartphone use.
144Hz 1.5K OLED Display With 5,000-Nit Peak Brightness
The Vivo V80 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel supports 1.07 billion colours and offers up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness.
The display also features slim 1.25mm bezels. Vivo says the phone uses a one-piece cold-carved glass design, giving the device a premium appearance.
7,200mAh Battery With 90W FlashCharge
Battery life is another major upgrade on the Vivo V80. The smartphone packs a 7,200mAh battery, which Vivo describes as the largest battery capacity used in its V-series smartphones in India so far.
The battery supports 90W FlashCharge, with Vivo claiming that the phone can reach 50% charge in around 30 minutes under its fast-charging conditions. The company also claims up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and approximately 39.5 hours of local video playback.
OriginOS 7 and Six Years of Security Updates
On the software front, the Vivo V80 will be the first V-series smartphone to ship with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17, according to current reports. Vivo has also promised up to six years of security updates.
Vivo V80 Price in India
Vivo has not yet revealed the official Vivo V80 price in India. The company is expected to announce pricing and detailed availability information during the October 6 launch event.
With its 7,200mAh battery, 50MP ZEISS cameras, 144Hz OLED display, 90W charging and more than 30 AI features, the Vivo V80 is set to enter India's premium V-series smartphone segment with a strong focus on cameras, battery life and AI-powered features.
