Weather Update: Heavy rain alert for three days in Himachal and Uttarakhand, rain expected in Delhi-NCR as well

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain for three days in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The possibility of heavy rains has also been expressed in Punjab, Haryana, and East Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rainfall in Delhi.

 

Moderate rainfall is likely in Delhi

The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rainfall in the city on Tuesday. A yellow alert has also been issued regarding this. Due to this, there can also be a partial decrease in temperature. The Meteorological Department has forecast that it will be cloudy throughout the day on Tuesday. Moderate rain and thundershowers are likely.

 

Yellow alert in 17 districts of Haryana

The Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert for rain in 17 districts of Haryana on Tuesday. 13 districts including Ambala, Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Panipat, Sonipat, Faridabad, Palwal are affected by flood.

 

The Agricultural Meteorology Department of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University has issued an alert for rain in several districts of Haryana during the next three hours. Tawdu, Gurugram, Narnaul, Ateli, Mahendergarh, Kanina, Charkhidadri, Bawal, Rewari, Pataudi, Kosli, Matanhel, Jhajjar, Bahadargarh, Ferozepur Jhirka, Punhana, Hodal, Hathin, Nuh, Palwal, Ballabhgarh, Haryana during the next three hours. Sohna, Nangal Chowdhary, Tosham, Matanhel, Beri, Rohtak, Bawanikheda, Hansi, Hissar, Narnaund, Radaur, Meham, Gohana, Julana, Israna, Safidon, Jind, Panipat, Asadh, Kaithal, Narwana, Kalayat, Abala, Kalka, Barada, Jagadhri, Chhachhrauli, Narayangarh, Panchkula blocks, and surrounding areas have expressed the possibility of light rain with winds and thunder. During this, there is also a possibility of heavy rain in some places.

 

Orange alert for heavy rain in Uttarakhand

According to the Meteorological Department, light rains will continue in Uttarakhand for the next five days, while an orange alert has been issued for Tuesday in Dehradun, Haridwar, Champawat, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, and Pauri, expressing the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places.

 

Signs of devastation seen after water receded in Himachal Pradesh

Traffic has been stopped due to water logging on the roads leading to Vrindavan and Mathura. In Mathura, more than 150 colonies and 29 villages have come under the grip of the flood. Water has reached the streets of Bankebihari temple. Water filled the sanctum sanctorum of Kailash temple in Agra. Funeral rites have stopped at the cremation ground due to water-logging.

 

In Meerut, the water level has started coming down in many tributaries including Yamuna and Ganga, but erosion is going on in many areas from these rivers. Crops are submerged. The water has receded in all the colonies affected by the floods in Saharanpur. Yamuna is half a meter above the danger mark in Baghpat.

 

Flood threat in Mansa, army deployed

The breach in the Chandpura dam of the Ghaggar River increased from 100 feet to more than 250 feet on Saturday morning. Due to this, the danger of flood remains in the Budhlada and Sardulgarh areas of Mansa district.
