Who's hand in increasing the hijab controversy: Advocates associated with Congress are advocating the Muslim side in court, this was revealed in Bhaskar's investigation

Senior advocate Devdutt Kamat is in discussion in the Hijab controversy. He is fighting the case of petitioners demanding the right to wear the hijab in the Karnataka High Court.

Due to this, he is being trolled on social media by calling him a hijabi lawyer. Apart from this, he is also holding a post in the Congress party.

Inside, the discussion is in full swing that Congress is fueling this controversy by taking Kamat forward.

After investigating his Congress connection, three facts came to the fore, which also gives strength to this apprehension.

Read what is the connection of Advocate Devdutt Kamat with Congress-

First connection: President of a committee of Congress

Congress leader Advocate Devdutt Kamat is the chairman of the Legal Coordination Committee of UP Congress.

On 17 January 2022, he has been elected as the chairman of this four-person committee. A paper signed by Congress National Spokesperson KC Venugopal attests to this.

The vice-chairman of the committee is Varun Chopra. Smarhar Singh and Nishant Patil are the members.

Indian Youth Congress National President Srinivas is not only a follower but also a fan of BV Devdutt.

Both are also friends and belong to Karnataka. Often Devdutt also tags Srinivas in his tweets.

Second connection- Fight the case of Congress alliance in Karnataka

In Karnataka, in May 2018, Congress accused the BJP of luring party MLAs to switch sides.

Along with this allegation, Congress had sent two buses full of MLAs from Bangalore to a resort, so that the BJP could not contact any of their MLAs.

The Congress and JDS alliance had filed a petition in the court against the Karnataka Governor's decision to invite the BJP to form the government.

This hearing was held in front of three judges on May 17 at 2 pm. Devdutt Kamat was the lawyer who presented the arguments on behalf of Congress before the judges.

Third connection - AAG remained in the Congress coalition government in Karnataka

Advocate Kamat was also the Additional Advocate General during the Congress rule in Karnataka from 2015-to 2019.

When the coalition government fell in 2019 and the BJP government was formed, he left the post citing personal reasons.

Troll army is also answering

Advocate Devdutt Kamat, who is being trolled for the arguments in the court for Muslim parties, is also replying to the troll army. Here are some of his tweets in this series.

February 7: Advocate Devdutt tweeted- 'King says helping the needy is a sin! So oh Lord, make me such a criminal.'

February 8: Devdutt posted a video of senior advocate Ram Jethmalani saying, "As per the Bar Council of India rules, an advocate cannot refuse to contest a case on the ground that the accused person is in the public eye. I am guilty. If an advocate does this then he is not honest with his profession.

Along with the video, Kamat wrote- 'Luckily I was born in a free country. I can select any case as a council. No third party, especially a political party can question me.

February 9: He tweeted – I am happy that in the last few days I have employed hundreds of trolls of 'King'. Along with smiley.

February 10: Kamat, retweeting the tweet of the alleged 'Hindu Yuva Vahini', wrote - What is this now? Anti Hindu on one day and Hindutva warrior on the other day.

In fact, in the post of this organization, Kamat was described as a real Hindu warrior for defending the ban on the book on rape case convict Asaram Bapu and also thanked him.

Kamat had also appeared in the Rajasthan High Court for Asaram Bapu.

However, when contacted by the office of Hindu Yuva Vahini in Ghaziabad, the organization denied having made any such tweet. He says that this tweet has been done from a fake Twitter handle.
