Why Russia said - this could be the beginning of the end of Ukraine

A high official of Russia has warned that if Ukraine makes an all-out attack on separatists in the eastern part, it can 'intervene to help the Russian-speaking people living in this part'.

The clash between Russia-backed separatist rebels and Ukraine's military in eastern Ukraine has continued for a long time. Apart from this, Russia is continuously increasing the number of soldiers on its border with Ukraine.

Russian official Dmitry Kozak has said that Russia can intervene for the 'protection of its citizens.

He said, "It depends on how much the fire spreads."

He also said that this could be the 'beginning of the end of Ukraine - it would be like 'do not shoot on the leg and shoot straight in the face.

The US and Germany have expressed concern over the growing tension between the two countries.

Why tension between Ukraine and Russia is increasing

Russia has been steadily increasing the number of troops along the Ukraine border but says that it should not be seen as a threat.

Russia has not provided information on the number of troops sent to its border, but Ukraine's military claimed in late March that about 20,000 Russian troops had been sent towards the Ukraine border.

A video has also surfaced on social media in which the train of Russia can be seen carrying heavy weapons towards the region.

In recent months, there has been increased conflict between Russian-backed separatists and Ukraine's military in Donbas, Ukraine.

With the death of a Ukrainian soldier on Thursday, the number of Ukrainian soldiers killed this year has increased to 25, while 50 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the conflict last year.

The separatists also say that the day a soldier died, the same day a separatist fighter also died. He claims that the Ukrainian army fired 14 mortars in a village on the outskirts of Donetsk and killed the fighter.

On Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the scene and was seen standing with his army during this 'difficult time'.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on phone on Thursday and asked him to "reduce tension on the Ukrainian border."

At the same time, Putin accused Ukraine of further exacerbating the situation during a phone conversation.

What has Russia said?

Russian officials relate the current situation of the Kozak separatists to the Srebrenica massacre. In the year 1995 in the Bosnia-Herzegovina town of Serbenitza, 8000 Muslims were murdered by the Bosnian Serb army.

Kozak, deputy chief of the Putin administration, says, "As our president says, if conditions like Sebrnitsa arise here, we will probably come to his rescue." ''

Vladimir Putin first said in 2019, "If Ukraine gains complete control of Donbas without guarantee, Russian-speaking residents may suffer genocide like Sebrenitsa."

But no such report has come out, in which the information of any such scheme of atrocities has been revealed.

Kozak says that so far the separatists have been able to fight the Ukrainian army on their own because they have 'necessary things' to fight.

Why is all this happening?

This dispute starts from the year 2014. In 2014, Russia merged Crimea Peninsula. Earlier, Crimea used to be a part of Ukraine.

President Viktor Yanukovych had to step down after the country after the 2014 revolution in Ukraine. Then Russia intervened in Ukraine and sent the Russian army to Crimea and took it under its control.

It was argued that there are many people of Russian origin and it is the responsibility of Russia to protect their interests amid protests.

This step created a huge rift between Russia and Western countries. After which, the European Union and the US also imposed sanctions on Russia.

A month later, Russian-backed rebels took possession of Donbas, Donetsk Luhansk, three Russian-speaking areas.

Western countries and Neto accused Russia of sending troops to the Ukraine border, but Russia said that every Russian fighter present here is a 'Volunteer'.

When Ukraine's President Zelensky came to power, he promised to restore peace in the area. A ceasefire was signed between the two countries in July last year. But since then, both countries keep accusing each other of violating the ceasefire.

So far 14000 people have died in this struggle.
