Electric car company Tesla has been trying to enter the Indian market for a long time. However, the company has not made much headway in its efforts. Now Elon Musk has given the reason for not being able to launch his car in India by tweeting.

 

 

When a user on Twitter asked him about a possible launch date for the Tesla car in India, Musk replied, "The company is currently working on several challenges with the Indian government." However, Musk did not specify what these challenges are and how he is trying to resolve the issues with the government.

 

 

Musk said six months ago – Tesla wants to launch in India

Elon Musk, in response to a tweet in July 2020, said that he wants to launch Tesla in India, but India has the highest import duty among all major countries in the world. He had said that Tesla expected temporary relief from tariffs in India.

In India, 100 percent tax is levied on imported electric vehicles costing more than $40,000 (above about Rs 28 lakh), while vehicles costing less than that are subject to 60 percent tax.
