New Delhi, Jan 22 (IANS) A 23-year-old woman CRPF constable committed suicide by hanging herself from the grill of a bathroom in a women's hostel here Thursday.

Laxmi, a resident of Rajasthan, was found hanging at around 1 a.m. at the third floor of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) hostel in west Delhi's Vikaspuri.

Police said another woman constable found Laxmi hanging and informed her seniors who later made a call to police.

"Laxmi was rushed to a nearby hospital but doctors declared her brought dead," said a police official.

She was inducted in CRPF in 2010 and was posted in 135 battalion of the force.

The investigating official said Laxmi was suffering from depression and being treated for the past few months at CRPF hospital.

"Laxmi's husband Rakesh is also in CRPF. The couple got married one year ago," the official said, adding that no suicide note was recovered from her possession.
