Reliance will open the country's first Jio drive-in theater in Mumbai on November 5. It will be opened in Jio World Drive (JWD). This will be the world's first rooftop, open-air drive-in theatre, that is, this theater will be on the roof. In this open-air theater, people will be able to enjoy the film while sitting in their car under the open sky. This theater will have the biggest silver screen in Mumbai.

This drive-in theater will be operated by PVR. Jio Drive-in has a capacity of 290 cars, which is the largest cinema screen in Mumbai. Jio World Drive is spread over 17.5 acres. It is located in the most premium location of the city, Bandra Kurla. However, photos of this drive-in theater have not surfaced yet.

What is Drive-in Cinema?

Drive-in cinema means that you come in your four-wheeler and enjoy the movie while sitting in the car. Such open theaters are held on large grounds. Here too the timing of the show of the film is done and the cars are lined up in a line so that the cars can come easily when the film starts, and leave comfortably at the end.

The concept of drive-in theaters is growing rapidly in the country. Especially after the Kovid epidemic, this has become the best option to watch the film outside. In this, people can enjoy the movie by sitting safely in their respective vehicles. At present, there are 6 drive-in cinemas in the country. Of which two are in Gurgaon. Ahmedabad, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, and Bangalore have one each.

Such theaters have a large outdoor screen. Radiofrequency is used for sound, or external speakers are installed. Cars are also parked at a distance of 6 feet from each other in the theater. You can take food items with you during the movie.

Open Air Theater at Dal Lake in Srinagar

To promote tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, for the first time, an open-air floating theater has been started in the famous Dal Lake of Srinagar, that is, people will be able to enjoy the film while sitting in a boat. Through this initiative, cinema has started again in Kashmir, because theaters have been closed in Jammu and Kashmir for a long time. Obviously, amidst the beauty of nature, the fun of the movie will also be doubled.
