Indian Test captain Shubman Gill made a historic record on English soil on 13 July. He broke the 23-year-old record of former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid.

Gill has become the highest run-scorer for India in a Test series (India vs England Test 2025) on English soil. Gill achieved this big milestone by scoring 2 runs in the second innings of the Lord's Test.

He has so far scored a total of 603 runs in 6 innings of 3 matches in the Test series being played against England.

Shubman Gill became the number one, surpassing Dravid.

In fact, in the year 2002, Rahul Dravid scored 602 runs in the 4-match series against England. Dravid was the highest run scorer for India in the Test series in England, but now Shubman Gill (Shubman Gill Test Runs) has surpassed him by scoring 603 runs in 6 innings of only three matches.

Gill could score only 16 runs in the first innings of the Lord's Test, but in the second innings, he broke Dravid's 23-year-old record by taking two runs on the last ball of the 13th over.

Gill eyes Kohli's record.

The record for scoring the most runs as a captain in a Test series for India (IND Vs ENG) is held by Sunil Gavaskar, who scored 732 runs in 6 Tests against the West Indies in 1978-79. Gill now has a great opportunity to break the records of both Kohli and Gavaskar.

King Kohli scored 655 runs in 5 matches against England in 2016 as captain. At the same time, in the year 2017, he scored 610 runs in 3 matches against Sri Lanka.

If we talk about the Lord's Test, till the fourth day of the match, the Indian team has scored 58 runs after losing 4 wickets in the second innings. India needs 135 runs to win. England's team could score 192 runs in the second innings.
