Worrying: The deteriorating situation in Chandigarh, UK strain found in 70 percent sample, increased administration worries

Chandigarh has also come under the grip of Corona's new strain. UK strains have been found in 70 percent of corona test samples sent from PGI to the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) New Delhi. 681 H mutations of corona have been found in 20 percent of the samples. It is a matter of concern that out of a total of 60 samples sent from PGI, most of them are from Chandigarh patients. In such a situation, the concern of the Health Department and UT Administration has increased significantly with PGI administration.

PGI director Professor Jagataram said that in March itself, samples of 60 corona patients from PGI's virology department were sent to NCDC, which was reported on Thursday evening. Pro. Jagtram said that with Punjab, now the UK strain in Chandigarh also increased the risk of spreading the infection here. The situation is also very serious because this new form of the corona is considered to be a very dangerous and fast-spreading infection.

Pro. Jagtram said that the samples sent included not only the elderly but also samples from patients of every category. One thing that has become clear from this that now the coronavirus is engulfing every section with children and youth. Therefore, there is a need to become aware of the people of every category along with the elderly and patients suffering from serious diseases.

Negligence will put lives at risk

There is a need to be serious about taking precautions as UK strain cases are revealed. Pro. Jagatram says that wearing a mask and following the law of safe physical distance has become extremely important. Avoid crowded places and unnecessary trips as much as possible. Also get vaccinated as soon as possible, as the vaccine helps reduce the severity of this infection to a great extent.

There will be no change in the way of treatment

Patients with UK strains will also be treated like patients infected with the original virus. Pro. Jagtram says that in both cases, the technique of treatment will be one. Any decision to change this will be taken at the government level, but no such instructions have been issued yet.

What is mutation

Pro. Jagataram told that mutations that occur in the genes of an organism to keep themselves alive are called mutations. With its help, the virus mutates itself twice in a time. In simple language, the virus changes itself to survive the external attack to stay alive. When this capacity is doubled, it is called a double mutation. On its strength, the organism changes itself again. This is the reason why this virus is spreading fast this time.
