A unique astronomical event will happen today i.e. on Friday. Today at exactly noon, the shadow will leave your side for some time. Today will be Zero Shadow Day.
Vishwanath Gupta, education officer of Shri Krishna Science Center, told that such astronomical phenomenon happens after years. Zero Shadow Day is a day when the shadow of a person or an object disappears for a moment due to direct sunlight. At that time the sun is just above the latitude line.
Moon will look bigger than its size on 31st August
Such a scene (zero shadow day) will be seen in other parts of the state including Patna on Friday. The position of the zero shadow is caused by the tilt of the Earth's axis of rotation, which is tilted 23.5 degrees to the plane of Earth's orbit around the Sun. For this reason, the position of the Sun keeps on changing between North and South throughout the year.
Such a scene can be seen in some places of Bihar. Apart from this, there will be a zero-shade day in some parts of South India on Friday. At the same time, on August 27, Saturn will be close to the Earth. On August 31, the supermoon means the moon will look bigger than its size. You can also see its view with your own eyes.
What did astronomer Dr. Shashibhushan Pandey tell?
Senior Astronomer Dr. Shashibhushan Pandey of Aryabhatta Observational Science Research Institute (ARIES), Nainital told that the last astronomical event of this month will be of Supermoon, also known as Blue Moon. The first supermoon in August took place on August 1 and now the second one will be seen on the night of August 31.
Shashi Bhushan Pandey further told that the incident of Zero Shadow Day occurs only between the latitude line coming between the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn. Every year on June 21-22 at the Tropic of Cancer i.e. 23.5 latitude, the shadow becomes zero in the afternoon.
Similarly, on 21-22 December, this situation is created in the Southern Hemisphere. After this, the position of zero shadow keeps on changing with the date and place between zero latitudes i.e. 23.5 latitude from the equator, and this phenomenon is repeated every year in that region.
