Chandrayaan-3: Chandrayaan reached its last stage, only this much distance is left

Posted on 18th Aug 2023 11:10 am by rohit kumar

Chandrayaan-3 is continuously moving forward to write India's history on the Moon. The vehicle separated the propulsion module from the lander and rover on Thursday (August 17). This means that now Chandrayaan's rover is moving forward alone to land on the lunar surface. In such a situation, today i.e. Friday is also considered very important for this.

At around 4 pm on Friday, there will be a process of dehusking in Chandrayaan-3, in which the lander will reduce its speed and will go a little closer to the surface of the moon. ISRO has said that Chandrayaan will land on the lunar surface on August 23 at 5.47 pm. Now the eyes of the whole country are fixed on August 23, when people will witness Chandrayaan landing on the moon.

The landing process will have a speed of 1.68 km per second

This time ISRO has taken many precautions for Chandrayaan's successful landing on the moon. According to ISRO chief S Somnath, the most important part of the landing is the process of reducing the velocity of the lander to a soft landing on the moon from an altitude of 30 km. We have to transfer it from horizontal to vertical direction. He said that the speed at the beginning of the landing process is about 1.68 km per second.

Distance will remain only 30 kilometers

According to an ISRO official, the lander will be deboosted on Friday to bring it into the lunar orbit. In this process, the speed of the vehicle will be reduced to bring it into the lunar orbit, after which the distance of the lander from the lunar surface will be only 30 kilometers.
