In a statement issued by the Department of Telecommunications, it has been said that 5G will be launched first in big cities like Gurugram, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Pune and this launch will not be on a trial basis, but on a commercial basis. According to a report in the Indian Express, the auction of a new spectrum for 5G will be held in March-April 2022 and after that, the 5G network will be launched, although no statement has been made regarding the price of the spectrum. If the price of the spectrum is high, then 5G plans will also be expensive.
