A major accident happened in Ladakh. The army vehicle slipped off the road and fell into the Shyok river. At least seven army personnel have been martyred in this accident. The rest are said to be injured. The more seriously injured are being referred to the Higher Center with the help of the Air Force. It is being told that the vehicle fell at a depth of about 50 to 60 feet.
"A team of 26 soldiers was moving from the transit camp at Partapur to sub-sector Hanif. The vehicle skidded off the road and fell into the Shyok river, injuring everyone," the Indian Army said in a statement.
All 26 soldiers were shifted to an army field hospital and surgical teams from Leh were sent to Partapur. Later seven soldiers died.

Stanzin Dorje, SHO of Nubra police station, said, "The accident happened around 9 am today, in which seven soldiers have died and 16 others were injured." Said it was a private vehicle hired by the Army to ferry soldiers. He slipped off the road and fell into an 80 feet deep gorge.
