The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition filed by the Tamil Nadu government against the march of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). In fact, in this case, the Madras High Court had already permitted the Sangh to take out the march through fixed routes. However, the Tamil Nadu government moved the Supreme Court against this approval itself. Now the Supreme Court has rejected his petition.
Upholding the judgment of the Madras High Court, a bench comprising Justice V. Ramasubramanian and Justice Pankaj Mithal said that all the petitions are dismissed. The Supreme Court had on March 27 reserved its verdict on the state government's plea against the Madras High Court order allowing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to take out a march in Tamil Nadu.
What is the whole matter?
The Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh had announced to take out route march rallies at 51 places in Tamil Nadu on October 2. This was banned by the DMK government of the state. The DMK government refused permission for the RSS rally fearing communal disharmony.
RSS had reached the High Court
The RSS filed a petition in the Madras High Court against this decision of the state government. On which the High Court allowed the RSS to hold a march rally except at six places. However, along with the approval of March, the court had also imposed some conditions. RSS workers were prohibited from taking out marches without sticks or weapons and speaking on any such issue, which would affect the integrity of the country. However, unhappy with the court's decision, the RSS postponed the route march program to be held on November 6.
What was the reason given by the Tamil Nadu government?
The DMK government had given the reason for denying permission to the RSS rally, saying that at a time when the government was making efforts to maintain law and order in the state, the RSS and other organizations were not allowed to take out rallies and hold public meetings. Can go Also, the government had said that after the ban on PFI, Islamic organizations are also protesting. In such a situation, allowing other organizations to hold rallies can lead to communal violence. On the day the RSS sought permission for the rally, several other organizations also reportedly sought permission from the government to take out the march. In such a situation, the government did not allow anyone to march.
