2. Four different buckets will be auctioned
This time BCCI is auctioning four different buckets of media rights. The first bucket belongs to TV rights in the Indian subcontinent. The second bucket is digital rights. 18 matches have been included in the third bucket.
These 18 matches include the first match of the season, the evening match with each weekend double-header, and four playoff matches. The fourth bucket includes broadcasting rights outside the Indian subcontinent.
3. Base price is Rs 32,890 crore
The BCCI has fixed a total base price of Rs 32,890 crore in all four buckets. The base price of television rights for each match has been fixed at Rs 49 crore. At the same time, the base price of digital rights of a match has been kept at Rs 33 crore.
The base price of each match in a 18 matches is Rs 16 crore. The base price per match for rights outside the Indian subcontinent is Rs 3 crore. In this way, the total amount is Rs 32,890. The board expects that it will get about 54 thousand crore rupees.
4. Auction of rights will be held in two days
The board has told that the auction of the first and second buckets will be held in one day. At the same time, the third and fourth buckets will be auctioned the next day. This process will be completed through e-auction. The winning company of the first bucket will be allowed to bid again for the second bucket.
That is, if the second bucket is bought by some other company, then the company that bought the first bucket can get it by paying more than that. Similarly, the winning company of the second bucket will be allowed to bid again for the third bucket.
5. Indian company will get the TV rights of the Indian subcontinent only
BCCI has told that only such a company can bid for the TV rights of the Indian subcontinent which is a registered broadcaster in India and has a net worth of more than Rs 1 thousand crores. The net worth of the bidder for the second, third and fourth buckets should be at least Rs 500 crore.
