Monica Singh was born and raised in Houston and now lives in Bellaire with her husband and two children.

Monica Singh was sworn in on Friday as Judge of the Harris County Civil Court at Law No. 4 in Texas. Singh's father had migrated to the US in the early 1970s. As a trial attorney for over 20 years, Monica has been involved in numerous civil rights organizations at the local, state, and national levels.

She said that Monika is now like an ambassador not only for Sikhs but for all women.
