New satellite images from the European Space Agency's (ESA) Sentinel Labs show that in an area covering hundreds of square kilometers after record levels of rain over the past two months, CNN reported. How has the lake grown? The islands and peninsulas in the lake once disappeared.

 

Satellite images also show that the water level in the lake remains at an alarmingly high level despite the cracks, which may cause further problems for the nearby villagers.

 

CNN reported, that Pakistani authorities are working continuously to lower the water level in the lake in Sindh. The country's second most populous province, home to about 48 million people. Nearby cities may be submerged due to the ever-increasing water level.

 

Some of the lake water was diverted to less densely populated areas to reduce the rising water level in the lake. So that the water level can be reduced.

 

But it has caused flooding in small villages, affecting some 135,000 people, Sindh province's irrigation minister Jam Khan Shoro told CNN on Wednesday.

 

Shoro said the move was necessary to avoid widespread flooding in the Dadu district, where about 1.55 million people live.

 

The lake also overflowed on Tuesday, CNN reported, in what officials said was a natural phenomenon and not part of efforts to divert the water.

 

Shoro said officials tried to warn people in towns near the lake on Sunday that there would be an overflow and urged people to leave the area.

 

He said that we are trying our best to provide relief to the people but the disaster is so much and the number of people affected is also so much. It is almost impossible for our government to provide shelter, food, and medicine to all. This is difficult work.

 

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said on Wednesday that he does not want the lake to overflow, but that cities up to 100 kilometers (62 miles) from the lake - such as Sehwan, Dadu, and Mehr - could be put at risk if authorities do not remove the water. Will fall in

 

Noor Mohamed Thebo, who spoke to CNN, said that our village is submerged and there is no way to get there.

 

Thebo said that 10 to 15 nearby families have been cut off due to the ever-increasing water in the lake. Water 1.5 meters (five feet) deep has now covered the main road, making rescue efforts difficult.
