Islamabad United won the title by defeating Multan Sultans in the final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 played on Monday. In reply, Shadab Khan-led Islamabad achieved the target in the 20th over itself, losing eight wickets on the last ball. Whereas, Azam Khan played an inning of 30 runs. Imad remained unbeaten after scoring 19 runs. Whereas, Naseem Shah played an inning of 17 runs in nine balls. Khushdil and Iftikhar took two wickets each for Multan. Whereas, David Willey, Mohammad Ali, and Usama Mir got one wicket each.
Islamabad won the title for the second time. Earlier, he had won the tournament in 2018 also. At the same time, Multan Sultans has been reaching the finals continuously for the last four seasons. He won the title in 2021, but for the last three times, he has to face defeat in the finals. In 2022 and 2023, Lahore Qalandars defeated them.
