However, this process is not easy to replicate on Earth. Unlike fossil fuels, nuclear fusion provides unlimited energy. It does not release any greenhouse gas. It is also expected to get rid of radioactive waste.

France's International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) will be the first device that can continue a fusion reaction for a long time.
