The Investigative Committee has held Trump responsible for the attack, although it is now up to the Justice Department to decide whether to convict Trump and prosecute him. Trump accused of betraying America
The crimes cited by the committee include obstructing government business, betraying the United States, and aiding insurrection. Significantly, on January 6, 2021, Trump supporters entered the US Parliament Capitol Hill and created a lot of uproars. Trump's hand was said to be behind this violence. Five people were killed in the violence while over a hundred were injured.

Former President Donald Trump sued the House committee probing the January 6 attack on the US Capitol. Trump filed this lawsuit to avoid subpoenas requiring him to testify.
