Four months had passed since the Korean War started in October 1950. US Air Force B-29 and B-51 bombers were causing havoc in North Korea. The American army had reached the banks of the Yalu River, pushing back the North Korean army.
It was in a way a knock of the US Army on the China border. After this, the real story of this war started. When at the behest of China's biggest leader Mao Zedong, more than 2 lakh Chinese soldiers simultaneously jumped into the war on a single front. After this, the whole picture of the war changed and America had to flee.
America directly collided with China in the Korean War
On June 25, 1950, North Korea attacked South Korea. With this attack, the powerful countries of the world were divided into two factions. On one side China and Soviet Russia stood with the Communist government of North Korea. On the other hand, America and European countries were with South Korea.
According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, more than 2.8 million civilians and soldiers were killed or disappeared from both sides in this three-year war.
You must be thinking that there was a fight between North Korea and South Korea, then why did China and America jump into this war?
Before 1904, an island was ruled by the Korean Empire. People knew it as Korea. Terrible wars took place between Japan and China in 1894-95 and 1904-05 for the occupation of Korea. After this war, Korea was occupied by Japan.
Japan was defeated in the Second World War in 1945. After the end of the war, Korea was divided between the two powerful countries of the world without asking the people there. For this division, 38-degree latitude was taken as the dividing line. The northern part was taken over by the Soviet Union and the southern part went to America.
After this, elections were held in the South part in 1948 under the leadership of the United Nations, but the North part refused to hold elections. This led to the formation of separate Korean governments in the two occupied territories.
The battle of thought against the left became the reason for the war
In the last days of World War II, it was decided among the Allies that after the Japanese surrender, Soviet forces would keep North Korea 38 Parallel North, while United Nations forces would monitor the south of this line.
After this, the government of the People's Republic of Korea was formed in North Korea under the leadership of Korean Communists. At the same time, the government was formed in South Korea under the leadership of leader Singmon Ri in a democratic way. Singman Ri was opposed to communist ideas. He wanted to stop this ideology from spreading in his country. So on 25 June 1950, North Korea attacked South Korea.
US Army officer General MacArthur took over the front
As soon as the war in Korea started, now the eyes of the world turned toward the United Nations. America put pressure on the voting in the UN and took responsibility for the security of South Korea.
In the Second World War, a contingent of the army led by American General MacArthur, who surrendered to Japan, reached Korea. Soon, American fighters started flying with dangerous Napalm bombs. Dangerous chemicals were used in the Napalm bomb, which could turn humans into steam.
The fierce form of the US army began to scare China, then the dragon jumped into the war
After initial hesitation, China openly started supporting North Korea. However, he had not yet launched an army against America. The Soviet Union was also giving weapons to North Korea.
US Army B-29 and B-51 bombers destroyed villages in North Korea. By January 1951, American forces had not only pushed North Korea's communist army behind 38 Parallel but had also reached close to the Yalu River. Yalu River is on the border of China and North Korea. In such a situation, the dragon began to fear that General Douglas MacArthur might enter the Chinese border with his army.
This fear of China forced him to openly enter the war. The Chinese Air Force took the MiG-15 fighter jets into battle to give a befitting reply to the US. In the first week of November, the MiG fighter jets nearly stopped the US military's daytime attacks.
US army forced to retreat after attack by the Chinese army
China did not have any modern weapons to fight in this war. Just a year ago, the war between Tibet and China had ended. MacArthur-led US forces were moving towards China, due to which more than 2 lakh Chinese soldiers suddenly attacked the American soldiers as soon as China's biggest leader Mao was signaled. Gave. Their attack was so aggressive that the American army was forced to retreat.
After this, the US Army came to a halt at 38 Parallel, which was the border between the two countries. Then talks for a ceasefire started on 10 July 1951. However, it was not successful at that time.
Douglas MacArthur was furious at the retort of the Chinese army
This response from the Chinese army made Douglas MacArthur, the highest officer of the US Army, stunned. He did not even think that China would suddenly give such a tough fight. Douglas MacArthur became a hero in America after the Second World War. This is the reason why MacArthur also decided to use atomic bombs in different cities of China. As soon as the US President came to know about this, he was surprised.
