Twitter boss Elon Musk announced his resignation as CEO of the company on Wednesday. He tweeted – I will resign from this post as soon as a fool is found to hold this post. After that, I will only manage the software and server teams.

 

He had asked the users on December 19 whether he should continue with his post or leave it. In the poll, 57.5% of users answered 'yes' and 42.5% answered 'no'. 1.75 crore people took part in the poll. One crore 62 thousand people had said that Musk should resign.

He did a Twitter poll. In this he wrote that should I leave the post of CEO of Twitter? Along with this, he had written that whatever the result of this poll comes, I will follow it. Most of the people had asked to leave the post.

Elon Musk bought Twitter in October for $ 44 billion, ie Rs 3.58 lakh crore. Since taking charge of Twitter, Elon Musk has been busy making major changes in the company. A few days back, they fired around 3,700 employees in the first round of layoffs. The layoffs were initiated by him along with CEO Parag Agarwal.

 

On Sunday, Twitter announced that it will not promote any other social media platform for free. The company had said, 'Now we will block Twitter handles created to promote other social platforms and their content. These include platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, and Tooth Social. Twitter also suspended the account of the Indian social media platform koo app on Saturday.

 

Accounts of journalists were blocked, and the decision had to be withdrawn under UN pressure

Twitter had also blocked the accounts of some journalists. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres criticized it on Friday. He called this a dangerous example from the point of view of freedom of expression. However, within hours of severe criticism, Musk retracted the decision and resumed the accounts of journalists.
