ED's action against Tamil Nadu Government's Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji has heated the politics. Opposition parties have criticized the detention of Senthil by the ED, terming it as an abuse of power. In Tamil Nadu, the opposition party AIADMK has supported the ED's action and demanded the removal of the accused minister from the cabinet.
AIDMK supported ED's action
Senior AIADMK leader D Jayakumar said on the video of Balaji crying that Tamil Nadu Minister Senthil Balaji is doing drama. DMK is trying to divert attention from this issue. Chief Minister Stalin should remove the accused minister from the cabinet. If the CM does not do this, then the Governor should intervene in this matter.
D Jayakumar said that the ED is working within the purview of the law. Balaji was fine till yesterday but when the ED took him into custody, his health deteriorated. ED should get him examined by an AIIMS doctor and take legal action.
Congress said- 'We are not afraid
At the same time, the Congress has criticized the ED's action against the DMK leader. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge issued a statement saying that 'this is nothing but political harassment, which is done by the Modi government against the opponents. No one in the opposition is afraid of such action. TMC has also criticized it. TMC MP Saugata Roy said that it is completely a case of misuse of ED.
