Spiritual guru Mahant Swami Maharaj of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha arrived in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday for the grand inauguration of the first Hindu temple in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The spiritual leader will preside over the historic inauguration of the first Hindu temple in the Gulf country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the temple on February 14, a few days after the 'Pran Pratishtha' of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Mahant Swami Maharaj was warmly welcomed as a state guest by Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance of the UAE. Welcoming the spiritual leader, the minister said, "Welcome to the UAE. Our country is blessed by your presence. We are touched by your kindness and we feel your prayers."

As soon as the BAPS spiritual leader arrived in Abu Dhabi, many senior members and devotees of the Swaminarayan Sanstha also came to welcome him. Prime Minister Modi is going to inaugurate the temple on February 14 in the presence of saints, swamis, and thousands of devotees. An atmosphere of religious enthusiasm and celebration has already been established with the arrival of thousands of devotees in the huge complex.
Preparations in full swing for 'Ahlan Modi'
Modi is also set to address the Indian diaspora at the grand Sheikh Zayed Sports Stadium in Abu Dhabi. "The event titled 'Ahlan Modi' is expected to be attended by over 50,000 people." 'Ahlan Modi', which means - 'Hello Modi'. This program is being considered as the biggest community welcome of the Prime Minister abroad.
Notably, the BAPS Temple is the first Hindu temple built in the Middle East. Ever since the construction work started in 2019. It attracted the attention and interest of the Hindu community around the world. The majestic complex located in the Abu Murikha area will reflect the spirit of Indian culture. Many volunteers from the Hindu community participated in the construction of the state-of-the-art complex, built using only white marble and limestone. Let us tell you, that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, had donated 13.5 acres of land in 2015 for the construction of the temple.
