Adnan relives memories with Salman Lata
Adnan has talked about Salman Khan's film Lucky No Time for Love, released in the year 2005. The songs of this film were sung together by the late Lata Mangeshkar and Adnan Sami. Lata and Adnan sang Ek Ajnabee Sa Ehsaas Dil Ko Sataye. This song was written by Sameer Anjaan. Lata ji and Adnan Sami were seen together for the first and last time in this love story.
Adnan wrote this about Lata
Reliving the nostalgia, Adnan wrote – I will always be grateful for this opportunity to compose and sing for Devi. When this opportunity came, Lataji had drastically cut down on her singing. She agreed immediately and could never say no to me.
Lata had praised Adnan on Qawwali
Adnan Sami has another connection with Lata ji and Salman Khan. Adnan recalls this was after the devotional qawwali Bhar Do Jholi Meri Ya Mohammed was recorded for the film Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He called me to say he liked it. The reincarnation of Saraswati, the queen of melody, whom I worship and love like millions of people all over the world. It was a pat on my back which I will cherish forever.
Adnan expressed happiness about working with Lata
Adnan recalls another old incident. This is about the time when he is talking to Lata ji. Adnan says warmly, she has always been very happy and encouraging. I have grown up hearing and seeing him being worshiped through my father. He fell asleep till he heard Lata ji's lullaby in Dheere Aaja Ri Akhiyan. He further said that when I came to India, my one wish was to meet her, and when Lata ji sang for me in the film Lucky, I felt that I had achieved the height of my career.
