The actor clarified her stance in an Instagram story. She stated that her legal team is now initiating a criminal case against Verma for fraud and accusing him of making false allegations to create a public spectacle.

The actress wrote on Instagram, "Media reports have suggested some action against a person named Pawan Verma in Moradabad. I want to inform everyone that this is a very, very old case, dating back many years, in which Pawan Verma signed a settlement deed and received the full agreed amount. Despite this, it appears that he has initiated action by making false allegations. My lawyers are initiating appropriate criminal action against this person to expose his lies, while I prefer to focus on my work and ignore those who create a public spectacle under false pretenses to gain attention."

What is the Ameesha Patel Check Bounce Case?

According to a report in Free Press Journal, the case stems from Verma's complaint. Verma claimed that Ameesha was booked for a wedding show in Moradabad on November 16, 2017, for an advance payment of ₹14.50 lakh. The complainant also stated that he had arranged for their accommodation, which was finalized at a hotel on Delhi Road in Moradabad.

Verma told the court that the actor returned ₹10 lakh in cash, but the remaining ₹4.50 lakh cheque bounced, forcing him to seek legal help.

Despite repeated summons from the Additional Civil Judge (Junior Division) Court, Ameesha reportedly failed to appear, prompting the court to issue a non-bailable warrant to ensure her presence. However, Ameesha has now broken her silence and clarified her stance on the matter.
